The collaboration between Jed Simon and Gene Hoglan has created the new monster in the vein of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD in the more extreme Thrash sound, aptly named TENET. With the help of your every day “average” musicians (no pun intended!), including Glen Avelais (FORBIDDEN) and Byron Stroud (former member of SYL) on guitar and bass and with the addition of Zetro Souza (EXOUS), the lads have formed an all-star line-up ready to dominate the metal scene.
Indeed, this is one of those albums that grabs you by the balls and doesn't let go, until the last note has been played or the last word sung. We are talking about a HUGE album here (one of the best of 2009), with the extremity of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD taken to a more Thrash/Industrial setting, without the use of keyboards (which is quite an achievement). Furthermore, I have to mention that, this masterpiece has been produced with the highest quality of sound and it does sound GRAND!
This album, is one of those productions that you can't get enough of it. You just want to hear more and more music. Finally, upon the fourth listen, I started wondering – is there any chance the duo Simon/Hoglan to ever release a crap album? I think TENET's “Sovereign” is good enough proof for me. Give us more metal...please!!!!
